Ahoy there! Here’s a whale of a tale.

This show is called The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch. It’s based on The Lighthouse Keeper series of books by Ronda and David Armitage. It’s an ocean adventure on stage with a real lighthouse, a boat, a frisky cat, and a rescue at sea! The show is full of mystery, adventure, and laughs.

Deaf Community Governance training - Invercargill

My name is Ryan and I’m an advisor in the NZSL Team (Office for Disability Issues). There will be free Deaf Community Governance training in Invercargill, Saturday 22 April 2023 and Saturday 27 May 2023, 11am to 2.30pm, this will be split in two part linked workshops.

This is open to all of the associated community both Deaf and hearing.

If any members from Otago region are interested attending the training, we can organise a rental van for traveling together. The cost of rental van/petrol will be covered by NZSL Board.

Join the workshop on the driver theory test practice to help improve your confidence and better knowledge.

If you already have the license, you can come along but you need to refresh your memory

A woman from Netsafe will present about how to keep yourself safe online. We will talk about safe banking, and how to know if something is a scam.

We will provide coffee, tea and refreshments.

NZSL interpreter will be available.

Emergency and Survival Skills - Cyclone Gabrielle

Hawkes Bay Deaf Club - 22 Lee Road, Taradale, Napier

Foundation skill is a topic in the workshop for emergency and survival skills. We will talk about how to survive when a cyclone.

You can ask more about what you think of the cyclone in Hawkes Bay? How did you feel going through the cyclone? What were the bad things? What were the good things?

We will provide coffee and tea.
