Tēnā koutou.
This is an update about NZSL Week 2023. NZSL Week is being held 8th to 14th May 2023.
This is to let you know that for NZSL Week next year will be a bit different. The NZSL Board has decided to only fund the promotion and marketing of NZSL to hearing people. This means that we will not be able to provide free NZSL Taster classes or fund local Deaf community events to celebrate NZSL, and the Deaf community, during NZSL Week.
If you are wanting to organise an event for NZSL Week, please get in touch with us, we would be happy to provide support if it meets our criteria. It may include providing support letters for local community grants, being a fundholder, promoting your events.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with us at nzsl@deaf.org.nz
We look forward to celebrating NZSL Week with everyone in new ways!
Meri Kirihimete! Have a safe and happy holiday period.
