About the role | Mō te tūnga
We are looking for a Team Leader – Translation to join our NZSL Switch team. This is a full-time, permanent position that involves:
· Lead a team in the day-to-day operations of the Translation service
· Creation of NZSL content for the Deaf community
· Engage with the local Deaf community and provide support/information
· Work as an effective team member, ensuring that Deaf & hearing people who engage with Deaf Aotearoa receive a positive experience
· Promote the work and interests of Deaf Aotearoa
About You | He kōrero mōu
· Tertiary qualification (or significant experience) in management or a related discipline.
· Fluency in New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL).
· Literacy skills appropriate to the role.
· Knowledge of and experience in translation between NZSL and English.
· Knowledge of Deafhood and language development.
· Experience in working in the Deaf community.
· Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to build and manage relationships effectively.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and confident using a range of IT systems and applications.
