What you will do | Ko tō mahi
- Translate written documents into NZSL, ensuring accuracy and cultural relevance.
- Create and present high-quality NZSL translation videos for different audiences.
- Quality check NZSL translation content to maintain high standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to meet deadlines and organisational goals.
- Keep accurate records of your work using IT systems.
- Promote Deaf Aotearoa’s mission and uphold our brand.
- Engage in professional development and follow organisational policies.
- Support other teams as needed.
About You | He kōrero mōu
- Deaf Studies Certificate (or working towards it), or an equivalent qualification.
- Expert knowledge of NZSL and strong English literacy.
- Understanding of translation processes and context.
- Experience with video editing, or willing to learn.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working within the Deaf community.
- High-level attention to detail.
- Familiarity with the not-for-profit and/or disability sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other IT systems.
