Mō te tūnga | About the role
We are looking for a Facilitator to join our Adults & Seniors team. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Christchurch.
In this role, you will:
· Engage with the Deaf community, providing support, information, and advocacy
· Develop service plans that help people achieve their goals
· Manage a caseload and support people to access services and resources
· Deliver person-centred services that promote independence, privacy, empowerment, and positive outcomes · Support people to gain employment
· Provide Hearing Assistive Technology (HAT) support
· Organise Adult and Community Education (ACE) courses for the Deaf community
· Build strong relationships with community organisations and other service providers
· Create and share accessible information, resources, and updates with the Deaf community
· Collaborate with colleagues to deliver a positive experience for the people engaging with Deaf Aotearoa
· Promote Deaf Aotearoa and its services
This role reports to the Team Leader – Adults & Seniors and sits within the Adults & Seniors team.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
· Fluency in New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL)
· Experience working with and engaging the Deaf community
· Strong communication, relationship-building, and networking skills
· An understanding of community-based service delivery, preferably within the not-for-profit or community sector
· The ability to work independently and contribute positively as part of a team
· Confidence using Microsoft Office and other digital systems
· A full New Zealand driver licence and access to a reliable vehicle
· A commitment to culturally responsive practice, including Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and Pacific values.
