You’ve asked and we’ve listened. We know lots of you want to support Deaf Aotearoa and the Deaf community but haven’t known how, so we are proud to let you know that we’re establishing our very own fundraising programme! There will be lots of different things happening throughout the year and lots of opportunities to get involved.
🌊 To kick it off though we’ve signed up to be a charity partner for Round the Bays in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch! 🌊
Why Round the Bays? Well, we’re all about getting out there and pushing ourselves, but that’s not all. We’re really proud to announce that the team at Round the Bays have been working with Deaf Aotearoa to make next year’s Auckland event accessible for the Deaf community for the first time by having interpreters at the start line and the awards after you cross the finish line🎉🥳
We’re also really excited that we will have a tent at the Auckland event post-race event village where you can come and hang out with us to celebrate you crossing the finish line. Some of the Deaf Aotearoa team will be there and we’ll have information for those that don’t know much about who we are and what we do.
So now, this is where we need you! We need dedicated people willing to walk, run or roll to help us have the biggest presence on the course, and to show the Round the Bays team just how supportive the Deaf community and their supporters are!
