STEM Communication Trust Interview project survey

Tena koe, I’m Brydee from STEM Communication Trust. A charity that aims to increase access to science, technology, engineering and maths in NZSL. We recently released a video about Biodiversity if you haven’t seen it please click the link to watch.

Right now we are wanting to know if our next project will interest you.

Your responses will help us to get funding and tell us if we are creating valuable projects.

The aim of our next project is to interview Deaf and HoH people qualified or working in STEM in Aotearoa.

We would like these interviews to take place in the preferred language of the scientist – NZSL or English. Monica Leach will work with STEM Communication Trust to run workshops to train people in interview skills. Then interviewers will be matched with scientists to interview. The interviews would be filmed and put online with translations and subtitles.

We hope these interviews will cover a range of topics, create interest in the sciences, gather NZSL vocabulary, show the challenges and discoveries in each subject, celebrate STEM professionals in the Deaf Community and encourage others to pursue STEM careers.
