If you have had 2 doses of the Pzifer COVID-19 vaccination you will be able to get a Vaccination Certificate/Pass. When the new Covid-19 Protection Framework, also known as the traffic light system, comes into effect, this vaccination pass will allow you access to more places.
This will be perfect to use for summer. You will be able to attend events, go to the restaurant, be involved in community activities such as church, watch and play sport, many of which may require proof of vaccination. Same some shops like clothes stores and hairdressers may also ask customers for proof of vaccination.
Access to essential services, such as the supermarket, pharmacy, corner dairy, health and disability services (like Deaf Aotearoa), service station, public transport, school will not require a vaccination pass.
You can now visit the website My Covid Record to obtain your Vaccination Pass. This will have a QR code, and you can download it onto your phone, or download it to print.
If you are under the age of 12, you do not need a Vaccination Pass.
The Ministry of Health has been working with businesses and services to make sure your is information safe. They will be able to scan the QR code, and if you are vaccinated you will see a green tick pop-up to show that you are vaccinated. This will also show your name and date of birth. Businesses or services can check if you are the right person, and can ask for proof to match the name on the Vaccination Pass by asking to see your ID such as a drivers licence. Make sure you have this with you.
For those who are not comfortable using technology, or do not have access to the internet or a mobile phone, you can call 0800 222 478 via NZ Relay, to discuss your options. You will need your NHI Health Number ready. They can advise you where to go to print out your Vaccination Pass.
The purple vaccination card which was filled in when you got your vaccination cannot be used as a Vaccination Pass. This can be modified and made into fake copies. You will need the official Vaccination Pass with a QR code.
This vaccination pass will be for use within 6-months and then will expire.
