Community forum with Qiane Matata-Sipu – NZSL interpreters provided

Kia ora koutou

I hope this email find you well. Some of your members and supporters may be interested in this community forum with Qiane Matata-Sipu (Te Waiohua ki Te Ahiwaru me Te Akitai, Waikato, Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Pikiao and Cook Islands) and with NZSL interpeters provided.

We’re very excited to meet Qiane, who is a leader in the extremely effective Ihumātao protection campaign as well as founder/creator of NUKU women, a non-profit social enterprise celebrating 100 Indigenous female change-makers and leaders for their success on their own terms. In all Qiane’s diverse mahi, she describes her guiding kaupapa as “telling the stories of marginalised people and communities to change the narrative for our future generations”.

Qiane will kōrero with Stacey Morrison (Ngāi Tahu, Te Arawa), award-winning broadcaster author, and Te Reo advocate. We look forward to a warm evening of being inspired by Qiane’s impressive knowledge, talents and achievements in making change for the future.
