Exercise and recreation is an important part of staying mentally and physically healthy. However, we have to be very careful about the way we do this to avoid spreading the disease.
The most important principles when you exercise are:
- stay close to home
- stay two metres away from people not in your bubble
- don’t do activity that could get you hurt and require medical care or rescuing (putting essential workers at risk).
You can do activities that are local, safe, and that do not involve interacting with others. You can exercise within walking or cycling distance from your house, or drive to a nearby area (no more than 30 minutes away) to go for a walk, swim or bike ride.
This could mean travelling to a nearby beach or park if it is still within a close distance to your home.
You can’t go to stay at a bach or holiday home.
If you are unwell, do NOT go outside.
