How Work and Income is working at ALERT LEVEL 3

The Prime Minister announced that on 28th April 2020, New Zealand will move to Alert Level 3 in our response to COVID-19.

We know this is a hard time for many, and we want to reassure you that your regular payments will continue during this time.

Getting help from us

While we’re in Alert Level 3 our service centres will remain closed and we’ll continue to give you the help you need online and over the phone.

If you need help you can:

  • use MyMSD
  • call Service Express on 0800 33 30 30
  • call us on 0800 559 009

If you’re struggling to meet your living costs

If you can, use MyMSD to apply online for help with things like one-off costs for food.

If you still need help, that’s the right time to call us.
