"ACC is making it easier for injured people to get the help they need. To do this people have to know what's available, it has to be easy for them to get and our staff should understand any particular needs they may have", said Dr Jan White, ACC Chief Executive.

  1. an information DVD for the Deaf about ACC and the services it offers
  2. a dedicated fax line for Deaf people
  3. a dedicated email address for Deaf people
  4. an e-learning module for staff "Communicating with our Deaf claimants".

"The Deaf community welcomes these types of initiatives, which will make it easier to access ACC services. Our hope is that other agencies will follow this lead", said Deaf Aotearoa Chief Executive Rachel Noble.
