The Office of Disability Issues is the key Government agency that provides disability strategies to support the goals of the Deaf community.
ODI works with all government agencies to promote, guide, lead, inform and advise on the New Zealand Disability Strategy – underpinned by The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Workbridge works with people with disabilities in their search for work and provides a service for employers. Workbridge provides funding assistance relating to a person's disability, whether they are entering or retaining a job, training/studying or establishing their own business. For Deaf, Workbridge may be able to help with funding for an interpreter.

Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) provides comprehensive, no-fault personal injury cover for all New Zealand residents and visitors to New Zealand. In other words, you can apply for their help, no matter how you got injured, or whose fault it was.
ACC's services include paying towards treatment or for help around the home while you get better and income support if you can't work because of your injury.
